The outcome of the generation of ideas was a design suitable for the kitchen. The inspiration was mainly from a specific geometric and a functional design. The geometric design was inspired of a Archimedean hexagon solid and functional stand of the Beoplay A9.
The stand raises the speaker from the tabletop so it is gets a characteristic position in the room. In addition, the raised position makes the speaker less keen to come in contact with liquids due to cooking. Another intend of the stand is for the user to be able to adjust the hight of the speaker. The finished speaker product should include rods in various lengths. The hexagon form was the main geometrical shape of the speaker box. To make the shape more complex, the final form was a combination of a semicircle and a more angular half an Archimedean solid. The intend of the the final form was to have a complex form of expression, and thereby take advantage of the ease of manufacturing by 3D printing.
